DIRECT CARE (Individual Employment) EMPLOYMENT IN A LIFECHANGING MINISTRY
Are you passionate about shaping the future of a child who has lost their parents as a result of abuse, abandonment, neglect or death?
As Caregiving Houseparent you will join a team of caregiving houseparents on our residential intake cottage creating a family environment for our at-risk kids aging 6-18 who often have nowhere else to turn. This cottage is often the first steps of a child's journey toward hope and healing. After completing our two week in-house paid training, you will take on a life-changing mission by guiding, counseling, and helping to meet the emotional, educational, spiritual and daily needs of our children. We are looking to you to provide compassion, internal strength and competence for these kids.
We need you to have a desire, dedication, and an interest in sharing your life with other team members and residents.
Due to the critical nature of this position, SMCH Direct Care staff who meet our high standards of care will receive competitive compensation by providing you a caring and supportive environment, comprehensive pay, no cost of expenses living within the home, extensive paid training, followed by 24-hour professional support, future career opportunities, and state-of-the-art treatment techniques. In addition, medical/dental/vision and prescription benefits, paid vacation and tuition assistance after 3 years of service.
The Home is nationally recognized with over 90 years of history in caring for hurting children. We are fully licensed and accredited through the State of Tennessee and COA (Council on Accredition) for our residential, foster care, on-campus school and counseling center. Annually, The Home will touch the lives of approximately 500 children.

Openings for Case Managers
The case manager is generally a fulltime employee of the SMCH working on site; however, may be a part-time casework services. Case manager responsibilities include participation in development of treatment plans; implementation of treatment plans (if applicable) for children and/or families; maintenance of casework documentation and progress notes; serving as liaison between families, agencies and schools; therapeutic support to children regarding educational goals, anger control, grief issues, separation issues, and other personal/family issues; crisis intervention; transportation of children; developing foster/adoptive homes studies; and facilitation of group process and structured treatment activities.
a. Qualifications for Case Manager
The case manager must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree with a major in social work or a related field and one (1) year of pertinent experience in the human services field with children or in a residential treatment setting. Volunteer experience and practicum and intern experiences in programs/ facilities that work with children and families may be counted as pertinent work experience. A master’s degree in the social sciences may be substituted for the one year of work experience.
